(From top to bottom: Shiva, Shakti, Ganesh, Kali and Kali again)
Shakti's image is probably the one that I feel is most inspirational, her character portrays a comforting serenity yet she is armed with multiple weapons, so there is a potential for destruction, she is a positive and universal force, and is in part responsible for the creation of the universe itself and exists outside it.
Within terms of the projects goal of bringing in a representation of the seven virtues, of which I have chosen Temperance:
temperance (ˈtɛmpərəns)
n
1. restraint or moderation, esp in yielding to one's appetites or desires
2. abstinence from alcoholic drink
[C14: from Latin temperantia, from temperāre to regulate]
I'm thinking of representing this with a mutilple armed humanoid figure, carrying a variety of weapons yet having them restrained. However this strikes me as very overused concept and is far too obvious to adopt. The silhouettes that I drawn as well as the iteration would be easy to adapt for the sculpt.
Another idea is to design a fictional creature that is almost wreathed in violence, yet is calm and transic of innate destructive ability, however I would like to show while this is not breaking the figure it is under a noticeable strain, like a muscle being flexed as a direct representation of that while effort is exercised it is not a unbearable torment. This would also easily compliment my Z-Sphere creature attempts.
And finally the idea of mecha, since a mecha, unlike a robot is used as manifestation or the extension of its pilot through direct interface and control (Also taps directly into the Hindu avatar concept), and given my personal sudden interest and creation of mechs in my own personal work I believe this would flow easier for me. In all this in the concepts that appeals to me the most. I could likely also bring the previous two concepts into this incorporating all my ideas.
